New York State Pavilion Paint Project

Open Gate Event Was a Success

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the World's Fair and the New York State Pavilion this past April 22nd, we opened the gate to allow limited access so guests could view and take photos of the interior of the Tent of Tomorrow which has been closed to public access for almost thirty years. Approximately 2000 people were able to enter and take photos!

The Paint Crew and NYC Parks were on hand to answer questions and talk about the past, present, and future of the structure we are so passionate about. We feel the event was a success and showed how much the pavilion is appreciated by many. Spirits were high in the park as visitors took in the
Queens Theatre and the Queens Museum as part of the celebration.

The goal was to raise awareness and share much of the work that has been done in recent years to give the structure a chance at survival.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation declared the NYSP a National Treasure! We hope for future opportunities for similar events. Watch for People for the Pavilion too!.Thank you for your support!
